Bonus for the final written exam (preliminary version)

In the course of the lecture, there will be several short tests (approx. 7 to 8). The assessments are voluntarily, won't be announced a priori, will usually take place after the end of a lecture, and will take roughly 10-15 additional minutes.

In every short test you can attain 10 points. In order to gain a bonus in the final written exam you need to obtain at least 60% of all points attainable (at most 80 points).

If your grade in the final exam is in the range [1.3,4.0] and you have attained the bonus, then your grade will be improved by 0.3. For instance, if your grade is a 1.0 or a 4.3, your grade will be unchanged. If your grade is a 4.0, it improves to a 3.7. A 3.7 becomes a 3.4 by means of the bonus.

The bonus applies only to the written exam right after the end of the lecture period.

There won't be retakes for the short tests.

Homework

Exercises are voluntary and do not account for the final grade. They are however highly recommended.
