The exam is going to start at 11:30 sharp. So please try to be at the lecture hall (MW0350) at 11:15 the latest. The exam will be closed-book. You are allowed to use a simple, non-programmable calculator without integrated computer algebra system.
  • Feb. 26th
Some smaller errors in the solutions of the exercises have been fixed.
  • Feb. 25th
Short reminder: for the exam, only the main part (w/o the proofs of Yao and Blum-Micali) of the slides and the exercises are relevant. Any additional information discussed exclusively in the appendix is not mandatory for the exam. For instance, finite fields and elliptic curves are irrelevant as is the proof of the bounds on the collision probability; but you should know the approximate bounds on the collision probability.

No lecture on Thursday, 02.12, because of the dies academicus.
  • Nov. 23
The third exercise sheet is online.
  • Nov. 22
This week we will have lecture sessions both on Wednesday and Thursday. The next exercise session will take place on Wednesday, 1st of December.
  • Nov. 18
    • The limit on the registration for the final exam should have been removed by now.
    • Slides with the recap of the basics on group theory uploaded (same user/pw as for the lecture notes).

(Edit) The proof of the last proposition (how to find elements of order q in ℤp for p=2q+1 a safe prime) is much too complicated. Free Lebkuchen for all in the next tutorial session if I get at least two easier proofs (ofc: not copied from any textbook/no two copies of the same proof; I didn't, neither should you) till the end of next week.
  • Nov. 3
The second exercise sheet is online.
  • Oct. 26
The first exercise will take place on Thursday, 28th of October, 10:15-11:45, in 02.13.010.

  • Oct. 20
    Several announcements:
    • New room: 02.13.010 (capacity: 40 students)
    • Final time: 10:15-11:45
    • Apparently, TUMonline right now requires a registration for the course. We do not know why TUMonline enforces this, but it is completely unintended.
      Sorry for any inconvenience.
    • On Wed., 03.11.10, the FVV will take place between 10:00-12:00. Because of this, the lecture will not take place on that date.
